Needs

Thomas Jefferson Elementary approached us with a request for branding that better reflected their new name: Thomas Jefferson Leadership Academy. The school needed a brand that aligned with their new mission to integrate leadership skills and character development through every facet of a student’s educational journey. Leaders are not born, they are made. Additionally, the school leadership asked that we try to keep the original mascot (the tiger) as part of the new branding so we could tie in their heritage with the new direction.

Strategy

The Design Strategy

From the start, we wanted to simplify and modernize the branding by developing a strong wordmark with creative hints at TJLA’s pillars (leadership, empathy, growth, integrity, collaboration, and service), while still keeping it fun! We created not only a wordmark, but also added a face to the brand—a tiger mascot. The tiger’s soft, friendly smile reminds us that true leaders show courage, empathy, and kindness. And the checkered pattern, forest green, and badged logo helped to also convey a regal or classic feel to the brand - fitting for a leadership academy!

Deliverables

Revival presented TJLA with a comprehensive brand guide, complete with a primary and secondary logos, badges, mascot, pennant badges, and more! The overall feedback was incredibly positive, with a unified excitement and adoption across the entire school. Go Tigers!
