The Story
Leaf Funnel is the lawn and leaf removal tool that you didn't know you needed. Designed just like a funnel, the unique shape of the leaf funnel allows you to bag leaves with ease, without breaking your back or your bag! The Leaf Funnel saves hours upon hours in your yard. When we first engaged with Steve from Leaf Funnel, his passion and love for the product was evident. In his exact words, "This is the best leaf revomal tool that no one knows about... yet." Steve had recently purchased the business and was passionately trying to rebuild it. Revival worked with Steve to build the new Leaf Funnel brand from the ground up as a promising lawn care retail product and re-launch a digital play in the fall of 2025.
Branding, Logo, & Packaging Design
The first item on our list was to properly name and design a brand that would instantly resonate with our target consumer looking for help in their yard. We originally threw around several ideas such as "The Saturday Saver" but eventually landed on "The Leaf Funnel" - a simple and yet clear description. Our branding took shape next, one version at a time and finally arriving with a simple outline of the product with a leaf falling in. We also fell in love with a bold text and label design that could resonate with our target shoppers who also might be walking the aisles of Home Depot or Lowes.
Go To Market Strategy
Leaf Funnel was once on the shelves at Walmart years ago, but the consumer and their buying habits have changed drastically. We worked with Leaf Funnel to do market research, customer review, industry analysis, competitive assessment, and build a holistic strategy for digital and pitching to retailers. Revival carefully assessed the opportunity and built a tactical plan for everything from engagement and channel strategy to consulting on price and optimal retail positioning.
E-Commerce Website Built on Shopify
Although the plan for Leaf Funnel was always to lean into retail, we knew that they needed a thoughtful and well-engineered e-commerce design and platform. After reviewing the needs of the client for fullfillment and order tracking, we settled on Shopify and designed a fun and energizing website. We also worked with Leaf Funnel to test and optimize the site performance over several months.
Paid, Social, & Influencer
We knew the secret to getting Leaf Funnel to grow would be a combination of organic social content, precise paid media campaigns, and using outdoor influencers to get the word out. Our strategy for social media was simple, emphasize the benefits of the product: time savings, ease of use, and education for how it works. Our vision for paid media was similar, but with more spunk. We wanted to turn heads and make the brand feel masculine and yet approachable. Finally, we worked with influencers to produce UGC content demonstrating the product use with real life work in the yard.
Product Photo and Video
Grit, dirt, grass, leafs, and sweat. These were the words we leaned into for the images and content for leaf funnel. We channeled our "Dirty Jobs" music and tried to make the Leaf Funnel feel as John Deere-ish as possible. Revival captured the Leaf Funnel in both a studio environment and in several yards with lawn professionals. The result, a wide variety of images and footage for use across web, social, paid, and vast asset usage.
The results of our efforts were immediate growth after Leaf Funnel launched in the fall of 2025. With consistent growth across the fall and winter season, Leaf Funnel made a strong splash and generated sales all across the US within the first few months. A successful re-launch of a brand that helps people maximize their yard and leaf cleanup!
