Needs

Annie Ozark is a women's lifestyle and clothing brand rooted in the beauty, craftsmanship, and heritage of the Ozarks. Born in the beauty of the Ozarks and with a background spanning iconic apparel brands such as Ralph Lauren and Wrangler, Ann Simmons launched her brand with a clear vision: timeless pieces built to last, inspired by place.

Ann came to us ready to bring that vision to life online. Her passion and expertise were evident. She had a debut clothing collection, a distinct brand identity, and an entrepreneurial instinct. What she needed was a strategic partner who could help her think through how to run an e-commerce business before the first product ever sold — and then build a Shopify storefront that reflected those decisions from the ground up.

Strategy

E-Commerce Operations & Consulting

Before we touched the design, we took the time to work through the strategic operational layer with Ann. The decisions a founder makes before launch show up for every customer after it. We helped her think through everything a shopper might need to know before they commit to a purchase, and what Annie Ozark would need in place to handle the transaction after.

For returns, we helped Ann land on a clear, manageable process: A 30-day return window for items in original condition, initiated through Shopify's native returns portal or by emailing customer support. Simple for the customer, sustainable for a small operation just getting started.

When it came to shipping, the goal was transparency and conversion. A surprise shipping cost at checkout is one of the most common reasons shoppers abandon a cart, so we helped Ann think through a structure that felt fair to the customer without overcomplicating the backend. Our recommendation was to start with flat-rate shipping and offer a free shipping threshold, steering away from calculated shipping for now. Shopify's native calculated shipping has limitations that would require a third-party tool and an unnecessary plan upgrade for a brand in its early stages. The simpler setup made more sense to get started, but left room to scale the shipping infrastructure as the business grows.

Information Architecture & Buyer Experience

With the operational foundation in place, we mapped out the journey a real shopper would take through the site. If a customer lands on a product page full of beautiful images but they’re left with unanswered questions, you've already lost them. We structured the product detail pages (PDPs) to answer the question “What does someone need to feel confident about before hitting ‘add to cart’?”

For a clothing brand, that meant building out a size guide to remove fit anxiety, and organizing product listings and variant structures so the browsing experience felt clear and intentional. No lingering confusion about what you're buying or what options are available.

End-to-End Customer Experience

Good e-commerce doesn't stop at the sale. We helped Ann think through the full customer experience from the moment someone lands on the site to the finishing touches after their order ships. That meant making sure the right policy pages and FAQs were in place so post-purchase questions had clear, findable answers, and that Annie Ozark had a framework for communicating with customers in a way that was consistent, trustworthy, and on-brand. A customer who knows what to expect at every step is a customer who comes back.

App Ecosystem

We sourced and integrated a focused stack of apps to support the store's growth from day one:

Deliverables

Annie Ozark launched with a beautiful Shopify storefront built to convert. The operational groundwork meant that when customers arrived, the experience answered their questions before they could ask them through a clear returns process, transparent shipping, intuitive product pages, and the policies and communications in place to support them after the purchase. Ann brought the brand and an amazing story to go with it. We helped build the strategy and infrastructure around it.
